Digging in the dirt

I've got a big backlog of photos to post but for now I'll start with today. I've been looking for a while for the right size flower boxes and supports for our balcony. Everything I'd seen was too narrow for our wide balustrade. But I made a trip out to Botanica at Annecy-le-Vieux today and found just what I was looking for. We also bought some extra boxes to plant some vegetables - off to the markets tomorrow to get some seedlings.

Yeah, this place is a dream! A rather small one (its only 68 sq m plus the balcony) - but we love it :)

I'm delighted to see Jasper has his hands in the dirt. You'll turn them both into little gardeners in no time,
I see what you mean now about the size of the balcony - it looks bigger than I had imagined and certainly alot bigger and more useful than Bonlieu.
The view looks fabulous, it makes up for your loss of the view of the mountains.

I've got the guilts about my blog, and I felt quite embarrassed when I looked at it yesterday (for the first time in over a year) and saw that I hadn't posted anything since late 2007 - must do something about it.
I'm dying to see more photos.

WOW!!! That view!! New place sounds fantastic! V. Jealous! Think we'll be staying put in Sydney till the worldwide economy settles.

Wow, you're right on the canal! A friend of mine lived just opposite you for a while and it was fantastic for le Retour des Alpages and various other festivals. Anyway, I need to know about balcony plants so this was really good to read - thanks.

Hi April - yes its not a bad spot here! I've been reading your blog for a big but don't think I've ever been polite enough to comment! Its always fun to hear another aussie's opinion. And please, don't take any of my gardening posts as professing any knowledge - I am pretty hopeless at it (although I come from a long and impressive line of gardening women!) :-)
