The Venice of the Alps

Its venetian carnival this weekend in Annecy. As we are going away, we headed out after dinner to see some of the costumes. Just like in Venice, its a mad rush of people taking photographs. But if anything the costumes seemed even more elaborate than I remember them being in Venice.

We farewelled Martina back to Italy this morning, after a fun few days together. And tomorrow we are off to La Clusaz for the week.

Colorful masks! Beautiful, but yes, a little scary! Came here from the expat blog hub, looking for French bloggers. I'm an American francophile hoping to be fluent in French before I die! Kind of hard to practice in Oregon. A great blog and wonderful photos.

Hello Penny! Sorry to hear about your tenants, are you covered by tenant insurance? The ohtos of your snow trip are fantastic, you must have had so much fun skiing. The Carnival looks fantastic, maybe next year you will have to all dress up too.

Must have been lovely to have a visit from Martina. Must have been a pretty cool trip for her too, how old is she now?

Jennie and Emily - funny, I dont find these ones scary at all. But there is a traditional one in Italy that is a bit spooky looking

Thanks for popping by Jennifer. We had the same problem trying to practice in Australia :)
